Today is Circuit’s Birthday!! Wooo! I’d sing the song, but then I’d have to pay good money to the estate of Michael Jackson, or Paul McCartney, or whoever it is that owns the Happy Birthday song.
Okay, so yesterday I hinted that I had some big news for y’all on this most special of days. And I wasn’t lying! There are two things, actually.
First thing: I’m starting a Sunday advice column featuring none other than Ed the Bell. It will be called “Devil’s Edvocate,” and it will be similar to a Miss Manners sort of thing, except with no manners. I’m not sure exactly which Sunday it’ll start, but I’d like to launch it soon. Here’s where I need your help. I need you and everyone you know to write an email to Ed with any questions you want him to answer.
The questions can be real, or they can be crazy make-’em-ups. Ed will probably answer with a crazy make-’em-up, so don’t feel like you need to be tethered too firmly to reality when submitting a question. The only thing I ask is that you keep it clean, okay? This isn’t the Playboy Advisor, people. Although, I guess if you have a question about Hi-Fi stereo installation or what kind of cigars to buy your friend when you’re in Cuba, that’d be alright.
So send Ed your questions! Ed’s email, by the way, is firstname.lastname@example.org. Before too long, I want to have a link up on the site that will make it super easy to ask Ed anything your little hearts desire, but this is a trial run, so you’ll just have to remember that email for now. Which, again, is email@example.com. Pretty easy to remember, right? Now start writing those questions!
Second thing: This one’s a bit of a lie because it’s not so much an announcement as it is a teaser for something I’ll announce in the (hopefully) near future. All I will tell you is that I’m fully aware that there is no such thing as a Circuit book yet, and that I plan to change that. But it’s not what you think. It’s ten billion times more awesome than that. Intrigued yet? I know I am.
Ed’s email, one more time: firstname.lastname@example.org.
And thanks to everyone for reading and following Circuit over the course of this first momentous year. I honestly have no idea what the next year will bring. I can only hope it’ll be anywhere near as good as this one was.
